Off in the Deep End

Another day and Bailey is handling the children.  There are some things she does that worry me but then again I am a protective mother.  Bailey is a wonderful person!  She is handling the children pretty well.  I am afraid I will still have to look for a nanny for my children though.  As much as I like Bailey she has her drawbacks too.  Bailey has a genetic disease that has caused seizures.  She has had it under control for the last two years but she cannot drive.  I really need someone who can drive.  Plus Bailey lives in the hotel we are in currently.  When we move how she will be able to follow us?  I am at such a loss.  She is SO close to being Mary Poppins!  Waaaaah!

James Swimming!

One upside is between Bailey and myself we have gotten James to swim in a pool yesterday by himself (he did have a puddle jumper on).  I was SO proud of him!
The hotel where we are at has a heated pool.  We went out near dusk and let the James and Margaret swim.  Margaret stays on the steps and splashes for all she is worth.  James was holding onto the wall but he finally let do and swam.  Joseph we kept out of the water because he chills too quickly and is soon shivering all over.  Poor little Joseph!

  1. Live in Nanny? That would be a solution. Sucks that she can't drive though.

    1. I was trying to find a live-in nanny but so far no luck. I am hoping to find a place that is at least three bedrooms so we will have the option of a live-in nanny as time goes on but for now no takers. :(

  2. Hi Michelle,

Just wondering what your more urgent "needs" are right now? I know you left a lot back in Nevada :( Are there things the children particularly like? Things they are allergic to? Do they like books, or DVDs or ? Give me a few ideas and we'll see what we can do :)

Good luck on starting your new job tomorrow!!

    1. Thank you to whoever you are. :) Our most urgent need is two fold really. We REALLY need to get out of this hotel. It is too small for the children. They are bouncing off the walls and we have already been threatened to be toss out of the hotel because the children were too loud. I have been looking at places but I have had a tough. With my husband leaving there was not enough money to pay my credit cards. Heck, there was not enough money to make rent and pay ANYTHING if we had plans to eat...lol. So now my credit is horrible and the property management companies see that and don't care why. We really need a home though. At least a three bedroom place with at least one bath and at least an enclosed yard with hopefully a large covered concrete porch. It is my dream place. :D

The second need is a reliable nanny who can take the children to therapy and doctor appointments. I had someone tell me THEIR price for being here from 5:30 am to 5:30pm Monday to Thursday, Friday off and every other Saturday for a while. The girl told me she wanted $16 per hour! Oh, and she wanted to bring her one year old child with her too! Are you KIDDING me?!? I figured it out and HER salary per month would have been about $2550. At $16 per hour that is about what *I* make! So I am not sure what I am going to do. I really need to try and stick to the salary of $1400 per month or I will not be able to pay rent and other other bills. I would LOVE to have a live-in nanny so I could leave early and everyone else can sleep for a couple of hours while I am gone but I have not found anyone interested in a live-in position.

As far as stuff we cannot really have much here. There just is not room in the hotel. I have a toy chest in my car of some of their toys but if I brought them in there would be NO WHERE to walk in the room. Toys would cover EVERY surface...lol.

James does love geography. So anything that does not have a lot of pieces would be good. Margaret and Joseph love Yo Gabba Gabba. James and Margaret love Spiderman. LOL Seems like there is not anything EVERYONE loves..lol. Wait, I am wrong. THey ALL love chocolate...LOL. They ALL also love anything that lights up. I think that is a universal kids thing!

  4. What are you hoping to pay for rent?

    1. I am hoping to pay no more than $1100 in rent and I need a place that is in a decent school district. Since the children are autistic I want to be able to move somewhere we can stay so they can get settled and into a routine. They NEED a stable routine!

I could use work clothes. Since I have not worked in the last 5 years I have "mommy" clothes. Most of my clothes are casual and comfortable with stains and small holes...lol. I am a big girl though and it is hard to find clothing for me. Thank you for the offer though. I will have to see what I can get from Old Navy online (they are my best bet for cheap clothing that I can wear to work) after I get my first paycheck...if I last that long...LOL.

  6. Hi Michelle, I've got two rental agents who would like to help! It's at no cost to you BTW. One is my sister-in-law and she doesn't get commission, so their is no pressure :) I gave them your price, needs, etc. Hopefully they will email you soon and get you on the road to finding something that will be a great fit for your family. I also think you should try properties without rental agencies, since sometimes they are easier on the credit front. I'll send a few ideas your way tomorrow. :)
