Halloween Carnival Gone WRONG!
Got this picture outside our hotel room after we got back from the carnival. |
Ah, it is Halloween time and the kids are excited! Over the weekend Bailey and I saw an advertisement for the Tempe Halloween Carnival. We thought it would be fun to take the children. Bailey also has a half brother and sister who are 3 and 5 respectively. I agreed to go to way east Mesa and pick up her siblings, then drive to the carnival in the other direction, go to the carnival, and then drive them back. It was about a 40 minute drive EACH direction. I ended up using half a tank of gas. That is a LOT!
The trip went wrong pretty much from the start. James has been SO sick. He was feeling better though and I thought he might enjoy getting out. I knew Margaret would not mind. Joseph is always up for pretty much anything. We drive across town and I knew it was going to be bad when I had to fuss at the kids several times to behave in the back. We get to Bailey's siblings house and we get the three year old, Jacob, and the five year old, Abby. As soon as the car got going Jacob started crying. Bailey calls back to her Mom and asks if he got a nap. No! The answer was no!
We left anyways but the WHOLE 40 minutes I was driving Jacob was crying and that set off Joseph and Margaret. I was SO loud Bailey was telling them to be quiet. I told her to ignore them because it was a long ride and there were so many children. We get to the carnival and it was PACKED! We had two strollers. One for Joseph and the other for Jacob. I had Margaret and James on their backpack leashes while Abby was exceptionally good and could just follow orders.
We walked down to the fairgrounds. It was neat. Each booth was run by a local charity for fundraising. Bailey bought tickets with her own money. That was VERY nice of her. We walked around for a bit looking at what was there and the kids decided they wanted to go to the moonbounce. So we went over. Keep in mind Jacob for the most part was still crying...lol.
At the moonbounce Abby, James and Margaret wanted to bounce. Bailey said that was fine. I stayed with Jacob and tried to entertain him and Joseph. I fed Jacob candy to keep him quiet. Joseph wanted to get down so I let him but he was trying to crawl since the ground was grass and uneven. The kids had to wait their turn in the bounce house so while waiting Bailey lost track of Margaret. We, thankfully, quickly found her. She went into a bounce house for older children. I sent her back to Bailey. All the kids went into the bounce house and they had their turn. Abby did great. She got out. Margaret got out but then screamed and threw herself on the ground because she did not want to leave and James cried because he did not want to leave either. So we had Abby acting SO nicely, Margaret screaming lightly, James crying, Joseph crying because of everyone else and Jacob crying. Bailey and I were NOT having fun! To cut a long story short I convinced Bailey to sell her tickets to someone else so we could get out of there. On the car ride to drop off the siblings and then go home there was SO much crying and screaming. It reminded me of my drive from Las Vegas to Phoenix. I HATE driving in a car full of screaming kids!

Pavlov's Dog

I had a meeting that had been scheduled at my work today so I went. I was not going to inconvenience everyone else because it was suppose to be my day off plus I wanted to meet the people I would be working with on my project. I went to that meeting. I drove back to Gilbert because an hour later I was going to tour a school for visually impaired children. It is someplace that Joseph might be able to attend next year. I think I have all ready made the decision to keep him out of school this year. The special education preschool program in the Gilbert School District is ridiculous It is only TWO hours a day Monday through Thursday. The risk of Joseph getting sick from going to school only two hours a day does not outweigh any rewards he would get out of the program.
After I toured the school I was driving back to to the hotel and I saw a For Rent sign so I stopped and called about the house. It is in the Chandler school district and seems like a nice place but the rent was $1250 per month and too high for my budget.

SO tired....
I want to write but I am SO tired! Getting up at 4am is rough. I like the commute though because the traffic is lighter (still a lot of people out). By 9pm (now) I am SO sleepy! I am sorry but I have to get to bed. Night people. I will write tomorrow or at least try hard. I promise!

Why Can't You Make a Phone Call?
Bailey is great for them since she takes them out and runs them around. That helps to keep James busy. Saturday we ran around. We went to look for Halloween costumes for the children at Goodwill. Then we went to Bailey's grandfather's work. They were having a "yard sale" to raise money for breast cancer awareness. Then I took the children to the Waffle House because it made them happy. Then we went to do laundry. The laundromat at the hotel is busted and will be for a few weeks. The landry was nice BUT the one of the washing machines ruined my clothes and Bailey's too. It was BAD. It looks like dye or something. Makes me mad since it ruined a pair of my pants for work. I have VERY little clothes at the moment because I cannot find anything. Once everything was cleaned we went back to the hotel. I got all the clothes put away and then Bailey and I got the kids ready and went out to the pool. We all went swimming. It was a long day but nice.
John called Sunday night. James was happy to hear from him. John wanted to talk to me. That was unusual. He hasn't really wanted to talk to me before. With these new rules going on I figured I would have to ask him to talk to me or something. LOL John said he was glad I found a house and my job was working out ok. I knew at that moment he had been reading my blog again. There is no way he could know those details unless he was reading the blog. I said my job is okay. I like my job well enough but I miss my children and they NEED me. I can have all the sitters in the world but my children need ME!
The house I am not sure about now. The property management company listed the correct address of the house for rent BUT the directions to the house is wrong. It is the west part of the street and about a mile from the east part of the street where the house for rent is located. The directions were for the west side. The description of the house (square footage, bedrooms, baths and everything else) is now in question. I cannot see the house until the current tenants are out. This is driving me NUTS!
The final part of the conversation surprised me a bit. John had told James that he was coming here in the first part of November. Now I am not sure if he is coming. John was saying he had work stuff that he had to do that made taking the weekend off. He is a school teacher so I don't understand what the problem is and then he says he has no money. That at least I believe. I have the same problem. Just driving from Vegas to Phoenix it took a tank of gas for my van. A full tank is about $135. So to make the round trip it would cost me at least $260 in gas alone! That does not include food or a place to stay. I am not sure when John will be seeing the children.
Today I had a decent day at work. I FINALLY got FULL access to the computer! Now I can start my training and get started doing my work. Yea! The reading was tough!
Tonight, yet again, no call at 8:00pm. Does he not understand how much James looks forward to that time. How he waits for his call? All John has to do is send money and make ONE FREAKING PHONE CALL A NIGHT! How hard is that? He just has to talk to James for about 10 minutes to make him happy. Sigh! I will take care of everything else or Bailey will. We have been kissing boo boos and trying to make James feel better (He has a bad allergy to something here. A LOT of coughing lately!)
John,
Please just send the money and make your phone call. Then you can run off and pay lip service to God and play with your new friends. I know you think God has been giving you peace and everything. You keep on thinking that. I am pretty sure God would not be happy to see how you have neglected your children (even your wife).
Got to get to bed. Four a.m. comes EARLY in the morning! Night my dear readers!

Things ARE Falling Into Place!!!
I am SO excited. I finally got computer access at work. Seriously, it was painful all the waiting this week! All I have been doing at work is reading material on HOW to do my job. I am hoping to start next week to ACTUALLY get started learning my job. I can't wait!
The housing situation... I am ecstatic to report it looks like I have a hard lead on a house! It is in Gilbert near McQueen and Elliot. The house is in a SUPER nice area and zoned for a nice school. It is a place where the children and I can settle down and live comfortably for YEARS! It has been SO long since I have had a house where I can stay for awhile. The rent is affordable. The house is spacious and has a nice backyard. The backyard is enclosed with a small covered patio area AND grass! There are few homes in the Phoenix area I have seen that have grass. Most have rock or dirt. This one HAS grass! The home is own by a property management company. I had to fill out an application and sign it in blood (not really but it felt like I should have). I had to ask my dad to put down money on this house and to co-sign for me since I do not have a recent work history. So far it all looks good. If I get this house I will be SO happy!
Babysitter/Nanny situation... I am happy to report that Bailey may be moving in with me if I get this house. I have also found a lady that can take the children for me too. She runs a daycare in her home but she currently is not taking care of any children. This is PERFECT for me. For one thing the children are a handful all by themselves. The second is that Joseph cannot be around a lot of other children since he could get sick. Great situation. This lady, Jennifer, is also older (my age and not 18), has raised children of her own and thinks taking my children would be FUN because it would be INTERESTING! How AWESOME is that? LOL She says this now. What until she meets them...lol. Jennifer also lives close to the possible house making that situation even better! Jennifer can drive and is willing to drive the children to their doctor and therapy appointments if I can keep them close by. So my thought is that Bailey can live with me. I can get up super early and go to work. Bailey and the children can sleep. Once they are up Baily can wash the children, get them dressed and make breakfast. Once they are fed Bailey can call Jennifer and she would come and get them for the rest of the day until I can come and get them. Not a bad idea I think!
So job situation is improving and the people I work with are very nice. The housing situation, with a LOT of help from my parents, might be fixed soon. The child care situation is working out with some possible back ups. With Bailey AND Jennifer taking my children I would hope it would keep them from getting burned out. The kids can be rough on people. Just drive you NUTS some days!
Things are falling into place. I think Bailey and her Grandfather have adopted us and to be honest I like that. Being out here and knowing NO ONE makes me worried. If something happens to me what would happen to the children? Or me? It is nice to know someone would be able to check on me. : )

Things Might Be Falling Into Place
Things seem to be starting to fall in place. Bailey is handling the children well. I got several calls during the day. The children were not feeling well today so I talked to them a few times. I was doing well at work but I am waiting to computer access still.
I found a house in the Gilbert area. It is a SUCH a nice house. It is managed by a property company so they want to do a credit check. I KNOW I would not qualify but I think my dad will help me. Got to find a way to get the money for the deposit. There is A LOT of hurdles to get through but pray I can make it work! If I can this would be an AMAZING house for us!
Sorry for the SHORT post but I have to get up at 4:30am and it is all most eleven at night now. I HAVE to get some sleep tonight! I promise I will wrote a post on ALL I have been up to for the last few days! It is good for the most part!

What To Do If You Disagree With A Vaccination Waiver Form
- The following conversation was taken off Facebook. A mother of a vaccine injured child was struggling with signing the specific wording of the vaccination waiver. You can read what happened. I only highlighted the responses of the author of the initial post.I'm really struggling being forced to sign a waiver agreeing to this -"By signing this waiver, you acknowledge that you are placing your child and others at risk of serious illness should he or she contract a disease that could have been prevented through proper vaccination."
NO. I do NOT believe this and I do not believe I should have to sign it.
Question is this - does federal law require w
e use their waiver? In the past, it didn't and I was able to use the MOMS form. I was also able to mark out that line when using their form. Now I'm being told new federal law says we can't alter their form in any way.
Ok fine then. Can I still use the MOMS form? I did and turned it in a couple weeks ago, it was returned and was told I couldn't, but I'm not finding anything in regards to new law saying I have to use the govt form.
Got another call today about it. I haven't found the answer yet myself so wondering if anyone knows off hand. Running around until late tonight and not sure if I'm just overlooking it or what, but man am I having a hard time finding the answer to this one. TIA
