Pavlov's Dog

That is what I am.  I am like Pavlov's dog.  I have been SO tired lately from getting to bed at 10pm and getting up at 4am that as soon as I turn the box fan on to try and put the children to sleep I fall asleep too....LOL.   All the children been SO sick lately.  Poor James seems to have been especially hit hard.  He had the WORSE hacking cough.  I do not have insurance locally so we have been trying to make it.  The problem is that I try and get the children down to sleep and I turn on that box fan.  The white noise makes me drift right off to sleep.  I am still tired now but I am trying hard to stay awake for a bit.

I had a meeting that had been scheduled at my work today so I went.  I was not going to inconvenience everyone else because it was suppose to be my day off plus I wanted to meet the people I would be working with on my project.  I went to that meeting. I drove back to Gilbert because an hour later I was going to tour a school for visually impaired children.  It is someplace that Joseph might be able to attend next year.  I think I have all ready made the decision to keep him out of school this year.  The special education preschool program in the Gilbert School District is ridiculous   It is only TWO hours a day Monday through Thursday.  The risk of Joseph getting sick from going to school only two hours a day does not outweigh any rewards he would get out of the program.

After I toured the school I was driving back to to the hotel and I saw a For Rent sign so I stopped and called about the house.  It is in the Chandler school district and seems like a nice place but the rent was $1250 per month and too high for my budget.

Next I stopped and got dinner for myself, Bailey and the children and headed back to the hotel.  I was, and still am, exhausted!  I have all sorts of news like how John decided to change the amount of child support he was sending me without warning, what is going on with the house, Bailey, moving, and many more topics but for now I hear the call of the fan.  It tells me to sleep. I should have time tomorrow to write and not fall asleep   Need to find a way to blog on my lunch hour.  That would be a lot easier...lol.

Multiples Who Terrorize Nannies

Whoever thought she would be such a terror?
Sounds like a bad episode of a reality TV show right?  Well, sadly, that is what my children did today.  : (    The first nanny candidate came over to watch the children.  I was close by because I did not want to worry. So I went to a local car wash.  When I got back about two hours later I pulled into my parking spot and I was stopped by the hotel manager.  She told me she knew I was gone.  I asked why and she said she had to help the nanny get my children back into the room...TWICE!  WHAT?  I was ONLY gone for two hours and there is only ONE way out of the room! Never would have thought that would have happened!  When I went to the room the first nanny did tell me they got out twice but she told me in passing and did not elaborate on it.  I did not ask any questions either.  When I heard the kids had gotten out twice AND she NEVER called me when the hotel manager and maintenance guy had to help her get the children back is a HUGE problem!  I was immediately turned off by that.

I was pinning my hopes on the second nanny.  She arrived and I talked to her for a bit before I left.  I had told the hotel manager I would be gone again today from 2pm to 4pm.  I said if she noticed ANY problem to give me a call and I would be right back!  I left and I got a soda from the Sonic that is right next door to the hotel.  I then left and drove down the road.  I got about two miles away when I got a call.  It was from the hotel manager.  She said the children ran away and the nanny was screaming for help. I said I would be right back.  I turned around and headed back.  The hotel manager and maintenance worker had gotten the kids back to the room and the second nanny was there too.  She was clearly in shock.  She said James went behind her back and opened the door.  When that happened he took off in one direction and then Margaret left taking off in another direction.  When that happened she panicked.  She screamed for help.  She had said she was unsure what to do.  I spoke to her for a bit.  I really think she could do the job but she was spooked.  I asked her if she was still interested in the job and she said she wanted to leave for today.  I told her to call or text me last night to let me know if she was interested in the job and I did not hear anything from her.  I am taking the "no-response" as a NO!

When I got back to the hotel a second time a lady was outside waiting on a taxi.  She said she also lived in the hotel and she is a professional babysitter.  I talked to her for a bit last night.  She came and played with the children for a bit.  I was there and she did fine.  She was at least as qualified and anyone I interviewed and she lived right there in the hotel so she did not have to commute. Her salary was in my price range and I told her if I did not hear back from the second nanny the position was hers.  Seems like I might have found a new nanny in the most of unlikely places.  Is she my Mary Poppins?  Only time will tell!

We're in Phoenix! (Well, Gilbert)

The last weekend of the move was SO tough on me!  I got eight, yes EIGHT, hours of of sleep from Friday morning to Sunday night!  I cannot remember the last time I went so long with so little sleep.  I am getting too old to be doing that kind of thing.  Wow!  Even now the time is heading to 11pm and Margaret just recently fell asleep.  She has been laying in the bed beside me signing Pinky Dinky Doo songs.  Poor thing!  I tried to stream an episode for them the internet at our hotel is NOT high speed (heck, it is not even medium speed...lol).  I was hoping to run around Phoenix some tomorrow but I think I may be staying at the hotel and making calls all day to see what I can do about everything. Plus if tonight is like last night I won't get much sleep anyways since the children are constantly making noises and waking me up.  Joseph woke up four times last night alone.

Tomorrow I will spend time telling about our trip here and all the other things that have been happening.  Good night!
